High West Bourye is a blend of straight bourbon and straight rye whiskeys, blended and bottled at High West Distillery in Park City, Utah. This is Batch 23B01 from the annual limited release, bottled at 46% ABV (92 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
The bourbon brings rounded corn sweetness and the rye adds dry spice. The blend changes with each batch, and the jackalope on the label reflects a whiskey made from two things that do not usually go together.
It is rich amber in colour. The nose offers caramel, vanilla and baked apple over rye spice, cinnamon and dried herbs. The palate balances brown sugar, toffee and stone fruit against black pepper, clove and dry oak, and the finish is long and warming.
