High West Rendezvous Rye is a blend of straight rye whiskeys, bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It brings together two ryes aged between four and seven years: one distilled in Indiana from 95% rye and 5% malted barley, the other distilled at High West in Park City, Utah, from 80% rye and 20% malted rye. It is bottled without chill filtration.
The nose offers plum jam and boysenberry, baking spice, cinnamon and cocoa-dusted citrus peel, with dried flowers and a little leather beneath. The palate is rich with rye spice, butterscotch and caramel, then mint, anise, clove, vanilla and stewed fruit. The finish is long and warming, with ginger, black pepper and cherry fruit leather.
