High West Rendezvous Rye Whiskey

High West Rendezvous Rye is a straight rye whiskey and the flagship of the High West range. It is a seasonal release, and each year's bottling includes more of the distillery's own pot still rye. It is made with a high proportion of rye in the mash, in the older style of rye whiskey, rather than the 51 to 53 per cent rye that is common in straight ryes. The nose offers poached pear, bitter orange, ground ginger and lavender, with wet sandalwood and tanned leather. On the palate come persimmon, dried apricot, ginger chews, walnut sauce and spiced caramels.
