High West Yippee Ki-Yay is a blend of straight rye whiskeys bottled at 46% in a 75cl bottle. It is High West's Double Rye finished in French oak barrels that previously held vermouth and Syrah wine, and it is not chill-filtered.
It was released on 5 December 2015 to mark Repeal Day, and the Utah distillery stopped making it in 2020.
The nose opens on cinnamon stick, cassis and star anise, then moves towards black cherry, cocoa nibs and clove. Bold cinnamon and orange rind sit over vanilla and blackberry on the palate, and the finish brings clover honey, black currants and a little mint.
