A single cask Highland Park from Douglas Laing's Old Malt Cask series, distilled in September 1996 and bottled in July 2008 at 11 years old. It matured in a refill hogshead and was bottled at 50%, without chill-filtering or added colouring. The outturn was 347 bottles in 70cl.
The nose brings honey, heather, peat smoke and a subtle spiciness. On the palate, sweet and lightly smoky notes sit together, followed by a long, pleasant finish.
