This is an 11 year old Highland Park from the Islands, distilled in September 1997 on Orkney and bottled in February 2009 by Douglas Laing in its Old Malt Cask range. It matured in a refill hogshead that yielded 324 bottles, at 50% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
Old Malt Cask was introduced in 1998 as a series of selected single cask bottlings, and the 50% strength is meant to keep the individual character of each cask. This one was not chill-filtered and has no added colour.
