Highland Park 12 Year Old is a single malt from Orkney, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. Its golden amber colour is natural, taken straight from the cask.
The whisky is spicy but mellow, with a little smoke from Orkney's heathered peat showing on the finish.
The nose combines heather honey, light smoke and dried fruit, with citrus zest, vanilla and a touch of sherry sweetness. On the palate, sweet malt and honeyed heather meet dried fruit, cinnamon, nutmeg and a hint of dark chocolate. The finish is long and slightly smoky, with sweet spice, toasted oak and a gentle saltiness.
