Highland Park 12 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from Kirkwall on Mainland Orkney, bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The distillery malts about 20% of its barley on site by hand and dries it over Orkney peat from Hobbister Moor, with the rest coming from unpeated malt. The whisky matures in sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks.
Heather honey, gentle peat smoke, dried heather and a hint of sea salt mark the nose. The palate is smooth and honeyed, with toasted nuts, orange peel, cinnamon and light wood smoke. The finish is medium to long and warming, with heathery sweetness, peat smoke and oak spice.
