A 12 year old single malt from Highland Park on Orkney, part of the distillery's Viking Honour expression and given a 2024 release. It is matured in sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks, mostly first-fill European oak, which give a darker natural colour and a fruity, smoky character.
In the glass it is a glowing amber. The nose is sweet with heather honey and gentle peat smoke. On the palate come rounded smoke, honey sweetness and full malt, with oak, dried fruits and spice in equal measure. The finish is sweet and lingering, with heathery notes and a little smoke right at the end.
