Highland Park – 12 Year Old - Viking Honour is a single malt whisky from Highland Park (Islands). Aged 12 years, bottled at 40% ABV, 70cl. Highland Park is known for being the most Northern Scotch Whisky Distillery in the world. It is situated on the outskirts of the biggest town in Orkney 58.9847°N. It is so far North that it is almost in the Arctic Circle. To give you an idea, it is on the same latitude as Anchorage, Alaska. The distillery has been distilling on the same site since 1798 where the founder, Magnus Eunson's, original illicit still was at High Park. They smoke their barley from over 4,000-year-old peat which has been cut from the Hobbister Moor only seven miles from the distillery. This 12-year-old has been matured in sherry-seasoned oak casks before being bottled at 40% ABV.
