This is a limited edition 17 year old Highland Park from Orkney, created in collaboration with Laila Gohar, the Egyptian-born food artist and host. It is bottled at 47.5% in a 70cl bottle, at natural colour.
Highland Park's whisky maker Marc Watson sampled more than 80 casks before choosing the whisky. It spent 11 years in refill casks, then six years in new American oak, which brings citrus, spice and creamy vanilla with orange blossom and leather.
The nose offers leather, polished wood and aged parchment. The palate has orange blossom and citrus with a sun-baked warmth, and the finish is creamy vanilla.
