Highland Park 18 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Orkney Islands, bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle. The distillery was founded in 1798 in Kirkwall.
About a fifth of the distillery's malt comes from its own floor maltings and is dried over peat hand-cut from Hobbister Moor. The whisky matures entirely in sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks.
The nose has gentle heathery peat smoke, red fruit, marzipan, dark chocolate and orange peel. The palate shows cherry, dried apricot and dark honey, then toffee, allspice, ginger and cinnamon, with a little peat smoke. The finish is long, with peat smoke, sherry sweetness, coffee and leather.
