This is a 25-year-old single malt from Highland Park, the Orkney distillery, bottled at 46%. It was drawn from 22 casks: ten first-fill sherry-seasoned oak hogsheads, two first-fill sherry-seasoned American oak hogsheads, four first-fill sherry-seasoned American oak butts, five refill hogsheads and one refill butt.
The nose is deeply fragrant, with rich dried fruit and a hint of gentle smoke.
Official tasting notes list honeyed peaches, sweet satsumas, pistachio biscotti, crushed coriander seed, oregano, crème brûlée, citrus zest and heathered peat smoke.
