Highland Park 25 Year Old is a single malt from the Orkney Islands, in its 2022 release, bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle. Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion selected and married just twelve casks for it.
Five are first-fill sherry-seasoned European oak hogsheads, two are first-fill sherry-seasoned American oak casks and five are virgin American oak hogsheads. The distillery describes the colour as naturally dark golden.
On the nose there is sweet oak-smoked coconut and honeyed violets. The palate brings lychee, Seville orange, aniseed and warm woody spice over gentle peat smoke, and the finish is long, honeyed and faintly herbal.
