Highland Park 25 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from Orkney, issued as the 2023 release and bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Only 22 casks were used, hand-picked by the master blender, who followed their development after they were filled between 1995 and 1998 and chose them for sweetness and smoke.
The whisky matured in a mix of first-fill and refill bourbon casks and European sherry casks, and the long maturation has given it an unusually soft character.
Peat dries the barley at Highland Park, and the peat is said to add a heathery note. The result is a fruity, spicy and lightly smoky whisky.
