Highland Park Cask Strength Heather is an Orkney single malt from the distillery's Cask Strength Series, bottled at 63.6% ABV without chill filtration.
It is made from malted barley dried over Orkney heather peat, cut locally at Hobbister Moor, and matured in European and American oak casks that were seasoned with sherry.
The nose is charred oak, toasted vanilla, honeycomb and caramelised sugar, with heather smoke and a faint floral spice. On the palate come heather honey, golden syrup, roasted nuts and brandied fruit over peat, with hints of cocoa and dried citrus zest. The finish is very long and warming, with smoke, oak and sweet spice.
