Highland Park Fire Edition is a 15 year old Orkney single malt in a 70cl bottle at 45.2% ABV. It is the companion to the Ice Edition in the Nine Worlds series, based on Norse mythology, and represents Muspelheim, the realm of fire. Production was 28,000 bottles, and it is non-chill-filtered. The bottle is red glass and sits in a flame-shaped cradle.
The whisky was matured in refill port-seasoned casks, giving red fruit and warming spice alongside the distillery's peat smoke.
The nose is ruby-red fruit, vanilla, spice and delicate smoke, with cranberry and Turkish delight. The palate has red berries, cinnamon, dark plum and smoky peat. The finish is long and warming, with wood smoke and dried fruit.
