Highland Park Ice Edition is a 17 year old Orkney single malt at 53.9% abv in a 70cl bottle. It represents Niflheim, the Norse realm of eternal ice, in the Nine Worlds series, and it is non-chill filtered.
The whisky was matured mainly in first-fill ex-bourbon casks. It was released in 30,000 bottles, each a cut blue glass bottle with a mountain-shaped cradle.
The nose is fresh pineapple, mango sorbet, silvery smoke and root ginger. The palate combines misty peat smoke with vanilla and orris root, and the finish is creamy and oily, with lingering wood and dry spice.
