Highland Park – Sigurd The Warrior Series (70cl)

Sigurd is a Highland Park single malt from The Warrior Series, a travel retail range launched in 2013, in a 70cl bottle. The series has six single malts, each referring to a famous Viking of Orkney, where the distillery stands. The name looks to Sigurd the Strong, said to have been one of the first earls of Orkney. He is thought to have ruled from about 980 and to have died at the Battle of Clontarf in Ireland in 1014, though much of his story is legend. The whisky is described as showing rich wood, spice and soft sweet notes, with the lightly smoky, citrus character typical of Highland Park.
