Highland Park – The Light 17 Year Old

The Light is a 17 year old single malt from Highland Park, released in a run of 28,000 bottles. It marks spring and summer in Orkney, when the islands emerge from winter into long, bright days. The embossed green glass bottle carries a serpent dragon design drawn from the Norse sagas. It reflects both the high sun of the summer solstice and the low sun of the winter solstice, while the runic writing echoes the Viking carvings still to be seen in Orkney.
