Thor is the first release in Highland Park's Valhalla Collection, named for the Norse god of thunder. It is a 16 year old Orkney single malt bottled at a cask strength of 52.1%, in a 70cl bottle inside a wooden Viking longship casket. The whisky is a blend of first-fill sherry casks, refill hogsheads and a proportion of Nordic oak. The nose combines aromatic peat smoke, fresh ginger, stewed plum and golden raisin with caramelised almond and cinnamon. The palate is rich, full-bodied and sweet, with toasted oak, dried fruit, toffee and moderate peat. The finish is long and creamy, with Christmas cake and growing spice.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
