Highland Park Viking Scars is a 10 year old single malt from Orkney, bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It matures in oak casks for at least ten years, which softens the spirit gradually.
Its character comes from the peat used to dry the malted barley, a peat that has long taken up the influence of salt-laden waves and gives the whisky a heathery touch. The colour is a glowing amber.
The nose offers citrus fruit, vanilla and pepper. The palate is light and round, with a gentle, distinctive smoke.
