This is a 19 year old Highland Peated Malt from 2004, bottled at 55.5% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in an ex-hogshead and is described as having an ashy peatiness and an unexpected texture.
The nose is peated but light, with a straw-like freshness and notes of fruit compote. On the palate come pear drops and strawberry lace sweets, crisp white pepper and raw vanilla pod, with the smoke working like a seasoning. The finish is long, with sweet, ashy smoke that persists.
