Hinch Double Wood is a five-year-old Irish blend of 75% single grain and 25% single malt whiskey, triple distilled and bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The whiskeys spend at least four years in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, then a further year in new American oak. Hinch is made at its own distillery in County Down.
The nose is sweet and creamy, with lemon peel, vanilla cream, fine tobacco and light wood. The palate is soft and creamy, with firm oak spice and mocha, then vanilla and warming cinnamon. The long finish brings fresh fruit with honeyed sweetness, melon, and wholegrain biscuits with milk chocolate.
