Hinch 5 Years Double Wood is a blend of 25% single malt and 75% single grain whiskey from County Down, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is not smoky.
It spent four years in first-fill bourbon casks, then one year in virgin oak casks. It is bottled without added colouring and without chill-filtration.
The nose is intense, with citrus fruit and vanilla. The palate brings spice and mocha alongside balanced fruit, and the finish is of medium length, led by wood and spice.
