Hirsch The Horizon Bourbon (75cl, 46%)

Hirsch The Horizon is a blended straight bourbon, made by combining two straight bourbons distilled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. It is bottled at 92 proof, or 46% ABV, in a 75cl bottle. The first batch, AHH0320, is 94% bourbon from a mash of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley, aged 5 years and 4 months. The other 6% comes from a high-rye mash aged 6 years and 2 months. Batch details are printed on each label. Tasting notes describe a nose of sweet cornbread and vanilla, a balanced palate with warm cinnamon and oak, and a long finish with a slight lingering sweetness.
