Hochstadter's Vatted Straight Rye is a vatting of five straight rye whiskies chosen by Robert Cooper from a library of more than fifty. It was launched in autumn 2015 and is bottled in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by The Cooper Spirits Co. at 50% in a 75cl bottle.
The ryes are married in vats and aged further until they harmonise, then bottled without chill filtration. The original bottling drew on ryes from Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Alberta.
It is described as round and concentrated, with blackstrap molasses, nutmeg, mace, clove, German-style rye bread and sour cherry.
