Hogsworth Bourbon Whiskey & Armagnac (75cl, 46.9%)

Hogsworth is a blend of bourbon whiskey and Armagnac in roughly equal parts, sold as a single spirit rather than a whiskey finished in brandy casks. It is blended and hand bottled in Vermont at 46.9% (93.8 proof). The bourbon comes from Tennessee and Minnesota, while the Armagnac is drawn from several vintages, including stocks going back to 1982. The average age of the blend is 9.4 years. The nose brings caramel and spice with dried apricot, old oak, candied orange and brambleberries. The palate is mouth coating, with baked apple, plum, raisin, roasted almond and cinnamon. The finish is long, with a tingle of peppercorn and warm citrus.
