Hooten Young 15 Year Barrel Proof is an American whiskey aged for 15 years and bottled at 125 proof, which is 62.5% ABV, in a 75cl bottle. It comes from the Hooten Young brand, founded by former Special Operations soldier Master Sgt. Norm Hooten and Tim Young as a tribute to the armed forces. The whiskey is sourced from MGP in Indiana and made from a mashbill of 99% corn and 1% malted barley. It was aged in second-fill barrels, which gives a lighter, sweeter style, and the barrel-proof strength concentrates that profile. On the nose it is described as maple, vanilla, brown sugar and light oak. The palate brings sweet corn, caramel, baked apple and gentle oak spice, followed by a warm, smooth finish with lingering sweetness.
