Hooten Young 6 Year Old Cabernet Cask Finish American Whiskey (75cl, 46%)

A 6 year old American whiskey from Hooten Young, bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle. The whiskey comes from MGP in Indiana and is made from a mashbill of 99% corn and 1% malted barley. It belongs to the brand's Wine Barrel Whiskey Collection, in which Master Sommelier George Miliotes finishes the whiskey for several months in California Cabernet Sauvignon wine barrels. The finish adds red fruit and wine character over a base of maple and cream. The nose is maple, cream and dark red fruit. The palate brings vanilla, ripe berry and soft oak, and the finish is smooth and lightly tannic, with a lingering sweetness.
