Hooten Young 8 Year is an American whiskey bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is sourced from MGP in Indiana and aged for eight years in second-fill barrels.
The mashbill is 99% corn and 1% malted barley. The brand was founded by Master Sgt. Norm Hooten, a former Special Operations soldier, and Tim Young, as a tribute to the armed forces.
On the nose there is maple, vanilla and brown sugar. The palate brings sweet corn, caramel and baked apple, followed by a smooth, warm and lightly sweet finish.
