House of Hazelwood Charles Gordon Collection 1963 'A Singular Blend' 58 Year Old Blended Whisky (70cl, 42%)

This is a 58 year old blended Scotch whisky from the Charles Gordon Collection, bottled at 42% ABV in a 70cl decanter. Both the grain and the malt whiskies in the blend come from the same Highland distillery and from the same year of production, 1963. It was matured for 58 years in American oak. Only 74 bottles were released, each in a hand engraved, individually numbered decanter inside an ash display box with gold leaf inlay. The nose offers butterscotch sweetness with a hint of saddlery workshops. The palate balances sweet and sour, with notes of waxy fruit skin.
