This is a seven-year-old New York rye from Hudson Whiskey, finished in Calvados barrels. The French apple brandy casks sit alongside a bold rye base, and the release is a limited edition.
The nose offers spiced apple, cinnamon, vanilla and toasted oak, with a hint of dried fruit. On the palate, rich rye spice meets baked apple, caramel, honey and orchard fruit from the Calvados casks. The finish is long and warming, with apple sweetness and peppery rye.
