Hyde No. 10 is an Irish single malt bottled at 46% in 2020. It matured first in freshly charred ex-bourbon casks, as Hyde whiskeys usually do, and then received a second maturation in French casks from the family-run Garnier Calvados distillery in Normandy.
The apple compote character of the Calvados sits alongside the sweet, spicy Hyde malt. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The nose is led by apple, citrus and pear with a hint of almond. The palate is rich and creamy with peach, pear, apricot and vanilla, plus baking spice, sweet pastry and floral notes. The finish is long and creamy, with malt, toffee and vanilla.
