Hyde No.7 President's Cask is a 6 year old single malt Irish whiskey, distilled from Irish malted barley. It takes its name from Douglas Hyde, the first President of Ireland, in 1938.
The whiskey spent its whole maturation in Oloroso sherry hogsheads and was bottled at 46% ABV, in a 70cl-style 750ml bottle.
The nose combines fresh malt, orange chocolate, baking spice, vanilla, lemon curd and honeyed stone fruit. On the palate it is rich and oily, with vanilla cream, dried apricot, stewed plum and raspberry. The finish brings honeyed spices, caramel and tart red berries.
