Chichibu Red Wine Cask 2023 is a limited-edition Japanese single malt from Ichiro's Malt, bottled at 50.5% ABV in an edition of 11,800 bottles.
It was matured in red wine casks from France, the United States, New Zealand and Japan. The whisky is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
The nose is sweet and malty, with vanilla, lightly peppery cardamom, burnt caramel and red fruit. The palate has layers of tropical fruit and red berries, with blueberry and blood orange, and the finish is long and spicy.
