Ichiro's Malt Double Distilleries 2021 Chichibu and Komagatake (70cl, 53.5%)

A 2021 release of Ichiro's Malt that brings together whisky from two Japanese distilleries, Chichibu and Komagatake. It is bottled at 53.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle, and only 10,200 bottles were filled. The whisky was matured in a combination of ex-bourbon casks, American white oak and ex-sherry casks. The notes describe ripe tropical fruit, pineapple and mango, on the nose, with caramel and a salty edge on the palate. The finish is clean, with a subtle sea salt note.
