Ichiro's Malt & Grain is a blended whisky from Ichiro Akuto, founder of the Chichibu Distillery, bottled at 46% ABV. It belongs to his World Blended style, which combines Japanese malt whisky with malt and grain whiskies from overseas.
Chichibu malt forms the base, joined by imported malt and grain whiskies. The components are aged in several cask styles, including American oak and refill barrels, and the blend is matured and assembled in Japan.
The nose is soft, with pear, apple, white peach, vanilla cream and lemon zest. On the palate, orchard fruit, honeycomb and vanilla sit alongside cinnamon and white pepper. The finish is clean and lightly sweet, with vanilla, citrus peel and malted grain.
