Ichiro's Malt & Grain is a Japanese whisky linked to Ichiro, whose family began making whisky at Hanyu Distillery in the 1940s. Hanyu closed in the 1990s after a downturn in whisky, though Ichiro still releases some of its whisky as the Playing Card series. In 2008 he built his present distillery, Chichibu, which has since become a favourite among Japanese whisky drinkers.
