Ichiro's Single Malt Single Cask "Tomodachi Cask" Cask #12507

This is a single cask Japanese single malt from the distillery owned by Ichiro Akuto, the house behind the Chichibu whiskies. It is made from 100% malted barley, distilled in pot stills and bottled at natural cask strength without chill-filtration. Tomodachi means "friend" in Japanese, and the name reflects the idea of sharing the whisky. The nose is bright with green apple, white peach and ripe pear, alongside fresh malt, soft vanilla and barley sweetness. Lemon peel and floral notes emerge with time, with a trace of toasted oak and light baking spice. The palate is smooth, balanced and silky.
