Ileach Peaty is a young, peaty single malt from an undisclosed Islay distillery, independently bottled by the Vintage Malt Whisky Company at 40% in a 70cl bottle. Ileach, pronounced Eee-luhk, is what the people of Islay call themselves. The nose has youthful peat, herbal notes, oak, grass and a coastal edge. The palate is smooth and malty with peat, peppery spice, tannins and a touch of fruit. The finish brings faint iodine, coastal notes and malt.
