This is a single cask Imperial, distilled on 5 December 1989 and matured for 31 years in a bourbon barrel. Signatory Vintage bottled it on 20 October 2021 at a cask strength of 55.9%, in a 70cl bottle. Cask 2072 gave 115 bottles, and the whisky is non-chill-filtered with no added colouring.
Imperial was founded in Speyside in 1897, closed for good in 1998 and was demolished in 2013.
The nose shows ripe fruit and vanilla with light spice and malty sweetness. The palate is full, with honey, oak and a hint of caramel. The finish is long, warm and lightly spicy, ending dry.
