This Imperial 25 Year Old is Batch 1 from That Boutique-y Whisky Company, a single-cask bottling of 285 bottles at 46.5%, in 50cl bottles. The whisky was filled into a former bourbon barrel in March 1998, the year the distillery closed for the last time. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The label takes the simulation hypothesis as its theme.
The nose is bright with citrus and lemon zest, then wax, vanilla and light honey. The palate is creamy, with dried papaya, pineapple and mango, building to toffee and caramel. The finish is medium, with tropical fruit and caramel pudding.
