Imperial 34 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from a single ex-bourbon cask, bottled by Elixir Distillers for The Single Malts of Scotland Director's Special series. 162 bottles of 70cl were filled at 41.1%, without chill-filtration or added colour. Imperial stood at Carron and was founded in 1897. It closed for good in 1998, having supplied mostly blends. The nose has warm wax, vanilla pod, light honey, sheep wool, fresh nuts, cardamom and hay. On the palate, apricot, guava, pink grapefruit and honeycomb sit with mineral notes, candle wax and gorse, then herbal tea and a little pepper. The finish is medium, with herbal tea, yellow peach and a touch of basil.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
