This is a 35 year old single malt from Imperial, a Speyside distillery founded in 1897 and closed in 1998. It was distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2025 by Murray McDavid for its Aficionado series.
The whisky matured in a single bourbon barrel, and 139 bottles were filled.
The nose is oily pineapple, ripe stone fruit and a little salted butter. On the palate it is creamy cereal and sweet honeyed peach, with a faint touch of peat. The finish is long, with gentle ginger spice and a thin veil of smoke.
