This is a 26 year old single malt from Inchgower, a Speyside distillery, from 1998. Gordon & MacPhail bottled it from a single refill sherry butt at 54.8% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. The butt yielded 533 bottles.
The nose is described as milk chocolate with stewed raisins and dried fig, alongside treacle toffee, roasted coffee bean and a little citrus. Spicy oak, stewed plum, Seville orange and black pepper lead the palate, with an old, musky character. The finish is full and spicy, with lingering citrus and soft aniseed.
