This is a 27-year-old Inchgower from Speyside, released in Diageo's Special Releases for 2018 at a natural cask strength of 55.3%, in a 70cl bottle. It was the first Inchgower to appear in the Special Releases series.
It matured in refill American oak hogsheads and has a full gold colour.
The nose and palate are nutty and spicy, and lively for its age. The start is smooth, sweet and clean, then turns drier with a clear maritime note. The finish is long.
