This is a seven year old Indiana rye whiskey from MGP, distilled in 2017 and bottled at 56.3% in a 70cl bottle. It matured for seven years in new oak.
The nose opens with menthol, then moves to bready notes, red cherry, marmalade on toast, blackcurrant, black pepper and dark chocolate. The palate is oily in texture, with red fruits, coconut, salted caramel, chilli heat, dried florals and eucalyptus.
The finish is long and bold, with more bready grain and dried florals.
