Islay Mist 8 Year Old is a blended Scotch whisky built around Laphroaig as its principal malt, with grain whisky and lighter malts alongside it. The blend was created in 1927 by MacDonald & Muir for the 21st birthday of the son of Lord Margadale of Islay. The peated, medicinal character of Laphroaig is clearly present, softened by the blending.
