Islay Trilogy 1969 is a 36-year-old blend of malts from Bunnahabhain, Bowmore and Bruichladdich, bottled by Murray McDavid for its Mission series. The release numbers 1,200 bottles, has natural colour and is signed by Jim McEwan. Its maturation includes Oloroso sherry casks.
The palate opens gently with honeyed oak, chocolate and tropical fruit. A medium-length finish follows, leaving sweet eucalyptus and a lingering nutty character.
